The Pushkar fair begins today at Pushkar, near Ajmer in Rajasthan, India. Pushkar is a small town situated around a lake. On the banks of this lake the only Brahma temple in the world is situated. The devotees take bath in the lake on the Kartik Poornima day during this Pushkar fair.

Owing to the debilitated condition of Mars, Venus and Jupiter in transit, this holy and tourist friendly fair will lack the most important element around which the festival and the fair exist, Water. The Pushkar lake is dry as of today.

Mars is in Cancer, a watery sign. As I said in my earlier posts, problems related to water will be on rise during the seven month long unusual transit of Mars in Cancer. Venus governs the comforts and pleasures of life which are reduced to great extent when Venus is weak in transit. Lack of water will contribute to all other imaginable problems in Pushkar.

The Lake has not dried up due to drought or lack of adequate rainfall. This has happened due to the unplanned and unsystematic Lake cleanliness drive by the town planning authorities represented by Jupiter which again is in its sign of debilitation.

With such negative transits of planets it is not advisable to attend the Pushkar fair in 2009. Well, if you are still motivated enough to go to Pushkar then be ready to take a holy dip in the small ditches filled by water from government tankers.
