What is a Prashna Kundali or Prashna Chart in Jyotish? Print

The Prashna Chart or Prashna Kundali is an important part of Jyotish. A Prashna Kundali is cast when the person coming to the Jyotishi does not have any accurate detail about his birth, like the time, date or place of birth. In absence of these necessary inputs the astrologer makes a horoscope of the time when the person asked him his question which has been in his mind.

This horoscope is called a Prashna Kundali, Prashna = Question, Kundali = horoscope. Then, on basis of this Prashna Chart the answers to the question asked is given on basis of the rules of reading a Prashna Kundali.
